TREATMENTS TO IMPROVE BREATHING
Breath Well
Proper breathing comes through the nose from the diaphragm and abdomen. Breathing through the nose slows air escape so the lungs have more time to extract oxygen from the air. Breathing from the diaphragm ensures that the lungs are completely filled with air which in turn properly oxygenates the blood and cells as well as fully excretes Carbon Dioxide. The abdomen compliments the diaphragm by making sure that enough muscle movement is done in the lungs so that transporting nutrients (oxygen) and toxins (carbon dioxide) is done for the whole body. Many people are mouth breathers and breathe using their chest muscles. When you breathe from the chest area, air comes in but not enough to fully oxygenate the lungs. This results in accelerated breathing rhythm and the breaths become too shallow causing an improper oxygen-carbon dioxide exchange. If carbon dioxide is lost too quickly, as in mouth breathing, oxygen absorption is decreased. Every cell in your body needs oxygen to live. A deficiency affects the PH level in the blood. Over time, this begins to throw the body out of balance and ultimately compromises your overall health.
